Balcom Agency Brings Wallace Cruz Onboard as Multimedia Art Director



FORT WORTH, Texas – Aug. 7, 2023 –


Balcom Agency has hired Wallace Cruz as its newest multimedia art director. Cruz joins Balcom’s thriving multimedia department, contributing his expertise in video animation and editing to enhance the agency’s client base. Already contributing to accounts such as Smith+Nephew (Advanced Wound Management) and others, Cruz is expected to work with nearly all of Balcom’s 60+ clients.


Cruz previously served as senior creative editor at 9thWonder in Dallas, where he worked on Honda, Alcon, Samsung, Phillips 66 and other brands. Additionally, he served as art director for clients such as Bank of America, Walmart and Verizon at Lopez Negrete Communications in Houston. Cruz has also been film editor at BushRenz in Miami and graphic effects programmer at Diarios Associados in Brazil.


“Wallace is a talented hybrid creator, excelling in art direction and video,” said Taylor Potts, multimedia creative director at Balcom. “He brings a fresh wave of creativity, experience and skills to our team, and feels like a natural fit for Balcom. Cruz is a native of Brazil who earned his associate degree at the Pernambuco Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology in Brazil. He completed studies at Miami Ad School in Miami, Florida, majoring in art direction. 

Cruz liked, “But Wait, There’s More” as his secondary title, a Balcom tradition. The nickname comes from his ability to surprise people with his ‘do-more’ capability to learn fast or offer expertise people were unaware he had.
